Production company and pitch

OUR IDEAS

Firstly we brainstorm some names for our production company and we had a few ideas for example: nurse carol productions, jump scare productions and slit throat productions but we decided that they weren't sensible ideas so we came up with Optimis semper which is the Latin word for best ever productions. We chose this name as it was the most appropriate and it was our best idea. We chose the name optimism temper because latin was heavily used in the 1700s by gothic literature. So they were used a lot in low budget films, especially latin transferred from english. This is why we chose to translate our name into latin.

Task 2: Brainstorming ideas
For this part we brainstormed the possible themes we could use in our film using a mind map. We also planned what kind of context we could put into our movie. We also wrote down the typical conventions you would find on a low budget film. We also looked at locations we could base our film in, like caves and forest etc. 

Task 3: decision making/synopsis
A white supremacist group called the Zyklons chase after a group of black people and in the process of doing so, they drop a bag containing a large sum of money and a locket that belonged to a dead nazi soldier. 3 days later 3 children were messing around in the area. 2 of the characters are very poor and desperate for money and, the other child is richer than the other two children. They go under the bridge where the bag was dropped and come across the bag. They open the bag and in the bag contains a large sum of money almost £20,000, and a locket that belongs to a dead nazi soldier. The richer child of the 3 suggests to give the money to the police, but as the other two characters are desperate for money they decide otherwise. After arguing about it for a long time the two poorer characters end up killing the richer character, by hitting him on the head with a rock. After that the 2 boys flee with the money. When the Zyklons return they realise that the money is gone and then go out of their way to find their money and the boys who have got it. They find the first boy and torture him and his family until he would tell them, the location of the other boy and their money. But the boy refuses and him and his family get gassed with Zyklon gas. In the end of the movie the Zyklons get their money and both boys end up dead along with their families.
