construction: use of sound in our opening

The first thing we did before putting music in to our opening we looked at a research task in the importance of sound in horror films, to see what we could do to make our film as intense as possible as adding sound would increase the tension and suspense in our opening.

Once we had done that we then looked at YouTube to see if there was any free horror music that we could use in our film that was copy right free as we didn't want to break any copyright laws. We found a couple of possible candidates for our opening then we picked one that went with the chase scene in our film as it built up tension leading up to the chase scene got fast and loud during the chase scene to add tension.

One problem we faced was downloading it on to premier pro as it required it to be a Mp3 format which would mean that it showed the video over the top of our filming so we needed it to be converted to Mp4. However most of the sites that did that were blocked by the school IT administrator so in our spare time we researched the best ones to use and found one that was unblocked, which allowed us to convert the video into Mp4. It was called Downvid.net.

Once we had converted it to Mp4 we put it into premier pro and made sure that it went with the correct timings so it worked with the video, even though it was Mp4 it still enabled us to use it as back round sound it just didn't show the video which was good as when it did it showed the video instead of our filming which was problematic.
