In the 2000s horror became more gory and due to the advancement in technology and special affects drew a large amounts of psychological movies. Which was done to freak out the audience and jump scares became a large factor of these movies. Also the horror movies were based around people's irrational fears such as: clowns, possession, heights, spiders, and much more so these psychological factors are used to get in to people's head and to raise the fear factor and to make the audience feel uncomfortable. By using their irrational fears to get under their skin and, make them feel like they are in their worst nightmare. This has made horror films successful as they try and make you jump and bring out the worst of you; this has attracted a type of crowd that love the adrenaline produced from these movies.
In movies like the exorcism of Emily Rose there is a lot of inhuman factors like being able to climb the ceiling and hang there, also being possessed and being able to do things that would break your spine and not dying from it. As that in the real world such a thing like that would lead to sudden death. And its this kind of link between real world and some sort of paranormal nightmare, where everything that you thought wasn't possible becomes possible. Like being able to climb up walls and float in the air as your being possessed, by a demon or some sort of ghostly figure. And coming out of crevices in the house. And it's these paranormal experiences that have started to make people wonder, if these types of encounters can possibly exist.

Also the creatures in horror movies are now getting more freaky, as they have weird eyes, demonic faces and have cuts all over their body which when they have the jump scares, and extra fear to the movie. As you wouldn't want anything that looked like that to jump out at you on a screen. Also as technology has improved over the years and the development of CGI it allows horror film makers can use it to improve quality of the movie and make the characters do
things, like raise in the air and they can add all sorts of video affects especially in paranormal movies. Where they can make the actors actually look like the demons they are playing for example in paranormal activity, they used CGI to make the characters face look distorted and demonic as it fades from human to demon as if it was coming out of her face. It also helps horror films by making blood and gore look real especially in zombie films as it, actually looks like there getting decapitated and that blood if generally pouring out of them which makes the
movie look more believable. Which makes it even more scary as it looks so accurate and real, and in movies that say based on true events CGI in that can also make it look real as well, like the haunting or killings actually happened like that. Which would also make the audience scared and paranoid and it's these types of movies that have progressed in the 2000s and these are one of the most popular movie types in the horror industry.

Your research is 'basic' and lacks attention to detail in relation to literacy skills Harry. The level of care that you take in the presentation of work on your blog is part of the assessment criteria and a very casual approach to punctuation and the use of capital letters suggests that you have not taken much care over this post at all.
ReplyDeleteOne of the things that I asked for in relation to this research was that it must meet the key words of the marking criteria for a level 4 piece of research. Those words are complete, detailed and excellent.
Reflecting on the piece of work you have submitted, how many sources did you use for your research and how could you have made it more detailed?
I used two sources but i probably should have used more for more information and i could of gone into more detail when I was explaining my points
ReplyDeleteThanks Harry - I think that it is important for you to realise that you need to develop your skills and abilities when it comes to independent work. I also reaffirm that attention to detail is always important when it comes to literacy - read back through your reply above and tell me where the basic grammatical error you have made is....
